Liquid Solar Pool Cover

In outdoor pools a liquid pool cover functions as a conventional solar cover. Outdoor pools are good collectors of solar radiation and without a solar cover much of the lost heat is reflected back to the atmosphere through evaporation. A liquid pool cover allows more solar energy to be retained, which means that an unheated pool will naturally be warmer, or the cost of heating a pool will be reduced significantly.

Evaporation accounts for anything between 70 and 90% of heat loss from the pool water, a liquid pool cover can substantially reduce the cost of heating the pool.
