AV product distributor RGB Communications is partnering with signal distribution specialist Atlona, to discuss networked AV and 4K HDR business opportunities, at the CEDIA Tech Forum, on March 23.
Atlona recently presented at ISE 2017, where Director of Field Training and Technical Sales, Ken Eagle, gave four presentations on varying topics around emerging AV trends. The feedback from the event in part influenced RGB Communications to invite Mr. Eagle to address AV over IP and 4K/HDR.
“Atlona’s products and AV connectivity solutions continue to evolve to meet the demands of emerging requirements around AV over IP, 4K/HDR and other pertinent industry developments,” said Caroline Britt, RGB Communications Managing Director. “Considering the wealth of knowledge that Mr. Eagle possess on these topics, we felt they were ideally suited to bring an engaging educational experience to attendees.”
Taking place in the Birmingham Airport Holiday Inn in Birmingham, England, the March 23 date is the first of six CEDIA Tech Forum events aimed at combining education and networking for custom installers in residential AV. Atlona’s session will be included among several additional 60-minute manufacturer product training sessions:
Networked AV: This part of the presentation will explore the tools required to design and create a networked AV systems. This includes inside in OmniStream, Atlona’s soon-shipping AV over IP product family for distributing 4K video, audio and control over standard Gigabit networks. The presentation will demonstrate how OmniStream can support a profitable networked AV solution that is also easy to deploy and operate.
4K and HDR: This part of the presentation will look at the top five topics custom installers need to master to successfully design and install 4K and HDR AV systems. The five topics include breaking down 4K resolution, understanding and estimating bandwidth requirements, planning for cable limitations, education on 4K and HDR formats, and hardware and copyright considerations.
“The topics of AV over IP and 4K/HDR continue to evolve, and with a quickly growing number of products flooding the market, it’s important to understand how these technology shifts will affect the custom installation business moving forward, said Eagle. “We’re proud to be involved with such a timely event that custom installers worldwide look forward to each year, and we thank RGB Communications for giving us an opportunity to bring our knowledge and thought leadership to an extraordinarily talented group of companies and individuals.”
