JVC has announced a new line of custom installation projectors with enhanced brightness and contrast. The DLA-X9500 (which comes in black only), is joined by the DLA-X7500 and DLA-X5500 (available in black or white). Both the X5500 and X7500 also include a new low-latency mode for better game play, an auto-detect HDR picture mode and THX 3D certification.
The DLA-X9500 and DLA-X7500 also offer improved Multiple Pixel Control (MPC) using a new analysis algorithm originally developed for the native 4K laser-light DLA-Z1. MPC is capable of more accurate diagonal detection between frames for both full HD and full 4K resolution signals to deliver an immersive 4K image.
All three new JVC e-shift models feature two full speed 18Gbps HDMI inputs with HDCP 2.2, to provide connection to the latest 4K UHD sources and support HDR and 4:4:4 color sampling. They also support HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) broadcast HDR. JVC’s e-shift4 technology provides 3840 x 2160 images by shifting pixels diagonally 0.5 pixels at rate of up to 120 Hz, multiplying the resolution.
A combination of 265W high-power lamp and narrow pixel gap provide better light efficiency and pixel-free, film-like images. Brightness levels for the new projectors are 2,000lm (DLA-X9500), 1,900lm (DLA-X7500) and 1,800lm (DLA-X5500). Prices range between 4000 Euros and 10,000 Euros.
The DLA-X9500B has a native contrast ratio of 160,000:1, but this jumps to 1,600,000:1 with JVC’s user-selectable Intelligent Lens Aperture. The new models also incorporate Motion Enhance technology, to minimise motion blur. Motion Enhance is compatible with 4K and 3D signals.
All 2017 JVC projectors will offer an Auto Calibration Function that can, with the use of a widely available third party optical sensor, automatically calibrate the image to optimise the picture for various environments. In addition, this can also compensate for the changing color balance that occurs with long-term projector usage. The trio will also include Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Discovery Protocol), so they can be integrated into a Control4 home automation system.
